About Patricia June

A Neighbor. A Fighter. A Voice for District 7.

Patricia June isn't a politician. She's a mother, a grandmother, a business owner, and a community advocate who has spent her life showing up for the people around her — and she's ready to do the same at City Hall.

Patricia June, candidate for District 7 City Council

Her Story

Patricia June is a mother of four adult children, grandmother to 16, and great-grandmother to 2. She has known both the joys and the heartbreak that  families carry — including the devastating loss of a child to homicide. That loss didn't break her. It deepened her resolve to fight for safer streets, stronger families, and a community where no parent has to bury their child.

For 23 years, Patricia has run her own Construction and Janitorial business — building something from the ground up, managing people, solving problems, and delivering results. She understands what it means to work hard, stretch a budget, and be accountable to the people who depend on you.

Patricia is a fierce community advocate who serves all residents regardless of party, race, or religion. She is a full-time guardian and a voice for the forgotten — the neighbors who have been overlooked, underfunded, and left behind for too long. Her commitment to District 7 is not a campaign promise. It is her life's work.

Patricia was honored as a Pay It Forward Honoree by WAKA — recognition of a lifetime of giving back to the community she loves. Now she is asking District 7 to give her the opportunity to serve at the highest level: as their representative on the Montgomery City Council.

You won't just see Patricia during an election. She will continue to be physically engaged with residents to address immediate needs, build trust, and driven to keep implementing local progress — because real leadership doesn't stop when the campaign ends.

Rooted in the Community

UCOM In Unity Ministry

Patricia's faith is the foundation of everything she does. Through UCOM In Unity Ministry, she has remained grounded in the spiritual life — serving neighbors, lifting up families, and answering the call to love and care for the community around her.

Therapy Buddies Neighborhood Care Team

On March 11, 2019, Patricia founded the Therapy Buddies Neighborhood Care Team — a grassroots organization that delivers meals and essential necessities to elderly residents, and provides food and clothing to those experiencing homelessness. The team also serves as an advocate for homicide victims' families, helping them seek justice and access information about their cases. And Patricia created the first Wind Phone in Montgomery, Alabama — a dedicated space where families grieving the loss of a loved one can find comfort, healing, and a place to be heard.

Youth Programs: Diamonds, Game Changers & Scouts

Patricia built a youth program from the ground up because she believes every child deserves a place to belong. She founded Diamonds Softball and Game Changers Baseball, giving young athletes a team, a coach, and a reason to show up. She also created a community Boys and Girls Scouts learning development program, equipping young people with skills, structure, and mentorship that carry them far beyond the field.

Skin Care Cancer Baskets

Every November, Patricia assembles and distributes Skin Care Cancer Baskets for cancer patients in the community — a heartfelt act of care that brings comfort and dignity to those fighting one of life's hardest battles. It is one more way Patricia shows up, not just during campaign season, but every single year.

L.I.V.I.N.G. — Senior Independence Initiative

Patricia is proud to introduce L.I.V.I.N.G. (Longevity. Independence. Vibrant. In-home. Neighborly. Grounding.) — a community-first program dedicated to helping District 7 seniors age in place with dignity, safety, and connection. Longevity means adding life to years, not just years to life. Independence honors the freedom of self-determination, providing just enough scaffolding to protect autonomy. Vibrant brings active social calendars, group activities, and laughter to combat isolation. In-home keeps care in the familiar environment our elders call home. Neighborly shifts the dynamic from clinical service to warm, organic community care. Grounding is the literal foundation: the grab bars, ramps, and secured walkways that give seniors safe footing in their own space. Whether you are a family member, a neighbor who wants to volunteer, or a local handyman ready to help — we welcome you. Let's look out for the generation that looked out for us.

Fresh Start — Community Garden & Food Independence

Seven years ago, Patricia founded Fresh Start — a community group created for Montgomery, Alabama residents to grow their own vegetables, plant fruit trees, and build greater food independence together. Fresh Start goes beyond gardening, welcoming conversations about fishing, hunting, pets and their care, and the health of our local climate and environment. Patricia's goal is for as many households as possible to have their own gardens every season — spring, fall, and winter — and no living situation is a barrier: apartment dwellers are just as welcome as homeowners. Fresh Start provides tips, resources, and hands-on assistance to elders, veterans, and the disabled, ensuring everyone has the support they need to grow. As Patricia says: 'Continue to be blessed and a blessing to others.'
